Bridal Overload

That’s it. I’ve crossed the rubicon and there’s no turning back. I’ve been talking to vendors,  sampling appetizers, collecting magazines, trying on dresses and even agreeing, for some ungodly reason, to attend a bridal registry sales pitch to “collect my free gifts” which include, amongst other things, two complimentary wedding bands and a pair of champagne glasses engraved with our names and wedding date.

Up until a few days ago, I didn’t even want any of these things: I already have two dresses, and why is it necessary to get a second ring when you already have a perfectly lovely engagement ring? And as for the engraved glasses, I’ve been throwing those damn things away ever since they started giving them out at our college formals.

(Note that as I’m typing this, “formals” autocorrected to “formaldehyde.”)

In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the best idea to spend 3 days in a row going to bridal expos and trying on dresses…

But it’s so easy to get caught up in everything! Even for a fairly sane, semi-level headed individual.

Luckily I’m teaching two back to back anthropology classes tonight so I’ll have no choice but to get my head back in the game.
