Before and After: The Master Bedroom (Finally some photos!)

I feel a bit guilty about having taken such a long break from blogging, but then I remember, “Oh yeah. I was RENOVATING a house.”

And so, without further ado, here are the first in a series of before and after pictures.

First, I tore out all of the carpet to reveal and okay-but-not-great parquet floor

My dad helped me lay bamboo floor (which I bought, carried and unloaded all by myself, thank you very much!)

Once the vanity was up, I got started on some cheap upcycled wall art.

I added a bench seat (which I painted and reupholstered, then made pillows to match).

I made a reversible duvet cover out of gray and teal fabric, with teal ties.

Somewhere along the line, PIC moved in and we realized we had WAY TOO MUCH stuff. I also swapped out the original wall art for something a bit more sophisticated.

    Oh, the pain, the pain of realizing that renovations NEVER stop when one owns a home 😉 Welcome to the world of home ownership, a place for proud moments followed by…hmm, now that I’m done with that, maybe I can tackle this? :0

    It looks beautiful! I’m really impressed with you putting in the bamboo floors!

    Wait, houses don’t come with smoke detectors?!

      Thanks! I think legally houses are probably supposed to come with smoke detectors and this one did but they were really old and didn’t detect carbon monoxide in addition to smoke, hence the upgrade…
