Before and After: The Master Bedroom (Finally some photos!)
I feel a bit guilty about having taken such a long break from blogging, but then I remember, “Oh yeah. I was RENOVATING a house.”
And so, without further ado, here are the first in a series of before and after pictures.
The Master Bedroom… before.
The closet and the window
First, I tore out all of the carpet to reveal and okay-but-not-great parquet floor
I popped off all of the baseboard and painted walls a very, very pale blue.
My dad helped me lay bamboo floor (which I bought, carried and unloaded all by myself, thank you very much!)
I even learned how to use a nail gun.
Little by little, we covered the whole floor.
The closet was the tricky part.
I got started on the “fun stuff” such as painting the mirror I got at the Habitat ReStore.
I made a reversible duvet cover out of gray and teal fabric, with teal ties.
Somewhere along the line, PIC moved in and we realized we had WAY TOO MUCH stuff. I also swapped out the original wall art for something a bit more sophisticated (which I’ll explain how I made in tomorrow’s post.)
My brother installed the smoke alarm for me.
